SUPERVERSIVE SPOTLIGHT: RICHARD PAOLINELLI

How long have you been writing?

Since 1983 in one form or another. I started out as a freelance writer in 1983, was the lead writer for two issues of the Seadragon comic book series for Elite Comics in 1986, and got into writing for newspapers in 1991. After I got done with doing that in 2013 I went back to fiction writing.

Which writers inspire you?

Jack McDevitt inspired me in 2013 to start again in fiction writing. I figured if he could retire from teaching and write novels at age 49 then so could I.

So, what have you written?

Nine novels, two non-fiction historical sports books and over twenty short stories that have been published in anthologies.

What draws you to Superversive writing?

Everything about it to be honest. These are the types of stories I enjoy reading so it was only natural that I’d write in this style. It’s the kind of stories I hope to publish at www.tuscanybaybooks.com as well.

What are you working on at the minute?

The next installments in the Starquest universe, established by John C. Wright, in both 4th Age and Pre-Migration, as well as a Christian Historical Fantasy and a novelization of the Seadragon comic book series Tom Floyd graciously gave me the green light to do.

Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors?

McDevitt, HG Wells, Poe, Herbert, Heinlein and Burroughs top the list.

How can readers discover more about you and your work?
